Choix de Chansons launched

by Centre for Early Modern Studies

In January 2021, the digital critical edition of the Choix de Chansons (1773) was launched—Jean-Benjamin de Laborde’s long-forgotten illustrated songbook. Led by Editor-In-Chief Dr Robert Wellington, Senior Lecturer at the Centre of Art History and Art Theory, ANU, the edition is the major outcome from the ARC funded Discovery Project, Performing Transdisciplinarity (DP170102666.) The multidisciplinary team responsible for the project also included ANU’s Dr Christina Clarke and Dr Pia van Gelder, and partners from Sorbonne University, The University of Sydney, and Oxford University. Browse the edition and listen to songs performed by tenor Dr Paul McMahon, Senior Lecturer at the School of Music ANU, and soprano Amy Moore.
